Preview and save your work
Check the visitor experience, keep your draft safe, and handle save conflicts.
Preview your draft
Preview mode shows the current draft, including changes you have not saved yet. It is available inside the private studio to authorised workspace members. It is not a public preview link.
- Search for your main destinations and open their place cards.
- Switch floors and check that names and the starting floor make sense.
- Rotate and zoom the map to check shape heights and label readability.
- If Include background when publishing is enabled in Map settings, check that the venue lines up with the real map and zoom out to inspect its surroundings.
- Return to Map or Places to make corrections before saving and publishing.
For a quick check while drawing, choose the cube button or press 3 to open the small live 3D preview. It follows your working area until you move its camera. Follow working area resumes tracking; Reset 3D view restores its default view.
Use the live 3D window while drawing
| Control | Result |
|---|---|
| Drag inside the preview | Rotate the camera. Right-drag pans; scroll zooms. |
| Following / Free view | Camera movement pauses automatic tracking. Follow working area resumes it. |
| Reset 3D view | Restores the default angle and framing. |
| Move handle | Drag the padded move icon to reposition the window; the title is not the handle. |
| Focused move handle + ↑ / ↓ / ← / → | Moves the window by 10 pixels; Shift uses 40 pixels. Home restores its starting position. |
| Bottom-right resize handle | Drag to resize the window, or click for Small, Default and Large sizes. |
| Focused resize handle + ↑ / ↓ / ← / → | Changes the size by 10 pixels; Shift uses 40 pixels. Home restores the default size. Escape cancels a drag. |
| Focused preview + ↑ / ↓ / ← / → | Rotates the camera; Shift + ↑ / ↓ / ← / → pans, +/− zooms, and 0 resets. |
The window remembers its position and size on this device, including after you close it or reload. It stays inside the canvas when you open panels or use a smaller screen. Moving or resizing it does not edit your map or add undo steps.
Save a draft
- Choose Save, or press Ctrl + S on Windows/Linux or ⌘ + S on Mac.
- Wait for All changes saved before closing the tab or navigating away.
- If saving fails, keep the tab open, read the error and resolve the problem before retrying.
Handle a save conflict
If a colleague or another tab saved a newer draft, Maphere stops your save from overwriting it. Your open tab still holds your local changes, but those changes have not been saved.
- Keep the tab open. Note or copy the edits you want to keep; a screenshot can help record geometry changes.
- Check with your colleague before making more changes. Avoid editing the same venue in several tabs.
- Reload only when you are ready to replace the open draft with the latest saved version. Reapply the changes you need, then save again.
If your session expires instead, sign in again in another tab first. Return to your open studio and retry Save. Do not reload a tab containing unsaved work just to reach the login page.
