Place POI markers

Mark entrances, lifts, toilets and other destinations without drawing a building footprint.

Choose the meaning of the marker before clicking its position on the active floor.

A POI is a point of interest. Use a marker for a useful destination that does not need a separate shop-shaped footprint. The available icons are POI marker (a pin), Toilets, Accessible toilets, Lift, Information, Entrance, Parking and Stairs.

  1. Choose the correct floor, then select POI marker or press A.
  2. Choose an icon from Marker icon. Click where the amenity belongs.
  3. The marker becomes selected and the tool returns to Select. Choose the tool again to place another.
  4. Open Place details to give it a clear visitor-facing name, such as East entrance or Accessible toilets.

Adjust position and elevation

Use Geometry to change the position, icon, colour, elevation or floor of an existing marker. A new marker is placed above visible filled geometry underneath it, so it can sit on a floor or space rather than disappearing into it.

Creating a marker also creates a linked place. You can replace that link with an existing place through Linked place, for example when several markers refer to the same destination. Give separate entrances distinct names if visitors need to choose between them.

  1. Select the marker and review Place details.
  2. Use Linked place to change the destination it represents and whether visitors can select it.
  3. Open Preview, search for its name and select it. Check the card and active floor.
  4. Save the draft. Publish separately when the change is ready for visitors.

Keyboard placement and removal

Use Add at centre after choosing the marker tool for keyboard-only creation. Set its X and Y values in Geometry or nudge it with ↑ / ↓ / ← / → while the canvas is focused. Delete removes the marker geometry but retains its place information for reuse; Undo restores the marker.
